We don't speak for the trees, but the Lorax does! I loved that movie growing up - but it also made me sad. Everytime I wander my neighbourhood and come upon a fallen tree, I say a little prayer for them - thanking them for their life and the clean air they gave to us. I become angry when people cut down trees for their own personal gains, taking a life older than their father's father just to rake a few less leaves in the fall. I hear about countries ending their deforestation projects often now - which gives me hope. But I do still wonder sometimes as I walk - where did the Lorax go? And who will now, if not he, speak for the trees?
