Digital Photograph, 16 × 16 inches, 2022
I named this piece after a song by John Denver and the Muppets - off their Christmas collaboration album. This is actually Lake Ontario in the summertime - the clouds almost fog-like in the distance, creating a seemingly singular scene without a horizon line to divide it. The song is about the transitions of life and death, returning to our creator to be reborn anew. Even if you don't necessarily believe in the afterlife, there is a sense of calm in the scene - nothing fights, everything works together in harmony - and it goes on forevermore.
